Are you a HUMAN centred leader?

Human centred leaders create organisational transformation through fostering trust, nurturing creativity and leading their team with empathy.

They prioritise the people. Not just the people in their team but customers, stakeholders etc.

They SEE the people while still holding the organisations vision and executing day to day operations.

I often work with leaders who think they must always be the strong ones. 💪🏽 Totally in charge.

They believe that if they don't take charge, have all the answers, and keep things smooth that they're not “doing” leadership right.

The strangest part?

Their teams don't expect them to be infallible, have all the answers or have it all together all of the time... the leaders themselves set that standard.

It takes some time for these leaders to grasp that true leadership involves being human-centred.

HC leaders nurture their teams, prioritise their well-being, value their input highly, and foster a collaborative, problem solving environment.

Steering the ship is often the position of a leader, however standing on the main deck alone does not get a ship safely sailed through rough waters and docked. It takes team effort and becomes a whole lot easier when the leader is human centred. They all trust each other to fall in and give what it takes when the going gets a little rough.

Effective leaders have empathy, emotional intelligence, and are active listeners. Their teams feel valued, respected, and motivated to excel.

If you're struggling to connect with your team, it's time to prioritise their needs and aspirations. You aren't failing as a leader, you just need to refocus on what truly matters!

1️⃣ Assess the work environment you've created. Is it inclusive, collaborative, and supportive?

2️⃣ Actively seek and listen to feedback from your team members. Use their insights to improve team performance.

3️⃣ Ensure you're recognising and rewarding achievements, while offering opportunities for growth and development.

There will be times when tough decisions must be made or deadlines met, but the wellbeing of your team, from a heart led, human approach should be a priority.

You’re allowed to lead with your heart. In fact - it's crucial.

Embracing human-centred leadership is a powerful way to inspire and motivate your team.

(and it benefits seasoned leaders as well as new ones!)
